I usually put out a few profiles on a few dating sites and vary them a bit to see what works better. Sometimes you can have something in your profile that people don't click with and sometimes the profile needs editing. That is why I say try a few free online dating sites.

I know that my prior experience can be helpful to others that are new to the online dating experience. Free online dating sites are plentiful. The key is finding a quality site with real members and lots of features. Also, select a site that best fits your personality. 

I strongly suggest that you choose a free online dating site that is in the top 10 of a google search. Those are usually the dating sites with the most members.

When you join a free dating site, make sure to upload some recent photos as well. People don't like surprises and many times dating members will display photos from ten years ago. That is not an accurate representation of yourself and certainly not what they are looking for. Please keep it real!

The next most important thing is the  dating profile. Make it upbeat, not too wordy, but let people know what you are looking for and your interest. Again, keep it honest. If you are not looking for a long term relationship then don't state that you are. It will leave for less aggravation and problems down the road.

Free online dating is definitely the way to go if you want to meet people and don't have a large of singles to choose from in your location. Dating should be fun, honest and worthwile!
